Some say the actual protection from a flu shot lasts 6 weeks. Some say a year. Why the confusion? Which is it?

its about a year. it protects against the current strain. The flu mutates, and as it travels around the world, it takes one year, and the next time the flu comes back to this area it is a new mutated version which means you need to get the "new" vaccine.
