Date a guy even though I know he is leaving in 4 months?

So... I met a guy.. who I like a lot.. we both have the same Christian beliefs and get along really well. BUT, he is leaving to go to the other side of the US in 4 months to move back home. Is it dumb of me to let myself have feelings for him and a relationship? When I know I am just going to get hurt when he leaves? He is having the same apprehensions as well.. any advice?
