What to wear to my reading?

I think you should wear a printed wrap dress. Wrap dresses are comfortable, flatter almost anyone, and would be nice enough for the occasion. The print would be eye-catching, and you want people to look at you because you are speaking in front of an audience. I think it would be right for you because you wouldn't need to wear too much accessories with a print, just neutral wedges, stud earrings, maybe a chunky bangle or two if you like those.
