Kitten nibbling, licking, and kneading?

We got our kitten a few weeks ago and we got him from a store so i'm pretty sure he is over 8 weeks old. But still he likes to lick my chin, lips and neck and then nibble and some times he kneads me and blankets. I have had cats before so i know that sometimes this means they were taking from the mom too early but other than that is there other reasons for this? is this normal. I know he isn't being mean cause it is after licking, but the nibbling can hurt and i'm not sure what to do w/ out punishing him for it and that just seems mean since he is giving affection. any suggestions would be appreciated.
