How can I write a romance novel without it getting boring?

one of the things that i find most bring as a reader is books that take up so many pages for a small event, just choose words that enable you to use less words. then the reader can concentrate on the plot instead of getting lost. add twists in the plot to make things more interesting, and not too gushy... that's just unrealistic
