Is there any pure Kurds in the north Iraq and Turkey?

I am not sure, but the greatest known Muslim after Mohamed is Saladin from Tikrit. Saladin was known as a KURD. I am not sure, but claiming the 2nd most famous Muslim in the world is a Mutt, might be insulting to anyone who believes in that national hero of Pan Islam.I have never heard anyone call him an Arab or a Turk to this day.
